PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The price of gas in Rhode Island has fallen another 4 cents per gallon.

AAA Northeast finds in its weekly survey released Monday that the price of a gallon of regular fell to an average of $2.21.

That price is 17 cents lower than a month ago and 8 cents less than the national average of $2.29 per gallon.

Gas in Rhode Island costs much less than it did a year ago at this time, when it cost $1.20 more per gallon. At that time, a gallon of regular was averaging $3.41.

AAA found that self-serve, regular gas is now selling for as low as $2.04 per gallon and as high as $2.35.
