WILHOIT, Ariz. (AP) - The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of a man fatally shot by authorities, who said the man ignored commands to drop his weapon.

Sheriff’s spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn says 45-year-old Jeffrey Blood was struck Friday at his home in Wilhoit after firing his gun in a threatening manner. He died at a Prescott hospital.

Deputies and Department of Public Safety troopers responded to the home after receiving a report of shots fired at a party.

The deputies - 26-year-old Brandon Warren and 24-year-old Dakota Brinkley - and 47-year-old Trooper Christopher Wilson are on paid administrative leave pending reviews of the shooting.

Warren and Brinkley have been with the sheriff’s office for 14 months and 10 months, respectively. Wilson has been employed with DPS for nine years.
