BEND, Ore. (AP) - The thermometer at Bend Municipal Airport dipped to 32 degrees Sunday morning, ending a record 140 days in Bend without the temperature hitting the freezing mark.

The Bulletin reports (https://bit.ly/1WtfGYO ) that National Weather Service data shows the last freeze on May 10. The low at the airport on Saturday was 43 degrees.

National Weather Service meteorologist Rachel Cobb in Pendleton says the temperature stayed at 32 degrees from 5:15 to 6:35 a.m. Sunday.

The 140-day streak broke the freeze-free record set last year, when the final frost hit in June and the first freeze didn’t come until November.

Late last week it looked as though the warm streak was going to continue, but the forecast changed over the weekend.
