SHELTON, Conn. (AP) - Police say the husband of a woman found fatally shot in her Shelton home has been charged with murder after turning himself in.

Shelton police said 52-year-old Thomas Infante was held Monday on $500,000 bail pending his arraignment Tuesday in Derby Superior Court. Police had said earlier Monday that Infante was a “strong person of interest” in the killing of 52-year-old Lisa Infante. Her body was found at their home Sunday night. It is not immediately known if he has an attorney.

Police said the couple was going through a divorce and Thomas Infante shot his wife during an argument. They had been married 27 years and had four children.

Lisa Infante was a volunteer at Echo Hose Ambulance Corps, where the flag was lowered to half-staff on Monday, and flowers placed outside.
