TONKAWA, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says an 81-year-old Blackwell woman has been killed in a three-car accident near Tonkawa in Kay County.

Troopers say the accident happened about 6:40 a.m. Tuesday just east of the Tonkawa city limits.

An initial report states the woman was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes and struck the second vehicle head-on, causing the second vehicle to spin around and be struck by the third vehicle.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene from her injuries.

The drivers of the other two vehicles were treated at hospitals and released. A passenger in the second vehicle was in stable condition Tuesday at a Blackwell hospital.
