BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say a 23-year-old Bloomington woman claims she feared for her life when she fatally shot her husband.

The (Bloomington) Herald-Times (https://bit.ly/1L1C9bN ) reports Taylor Roxann Kirby is charged with murder and was being held without bond at the Monroe County Jail. She’s accused of shooting her husband, 26-year-old Justin Kirby, four times Saturday during an argument.

A probable cause affidavit says Taylor Kirby called 911 and said she shot her husband because he “came after” her. Police found Justin Kirby dead outside their home, and the couple’s two young children were playing nearby.

The affidavit says Taylor Kirby told authorities that her husband raised his hand in a clenched fist and came toward her, and she shot him when he was about six strides away.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Taylor Kirby has an attorney.
