GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - The Greenville County coroner’s office says it has been unable to determine the cause of death of a Mauldin man whose body was found in a creek earlier this month.

The coroner’s office said in a statement Monday that an autopsy failed to determine the cause of death of 85-year-old William Milton Williams.

Williams had been reported missing Sept 15. He had last been seen at Fox Run Country Club in Simpsonville.

Coroner Parks Evans said search teams found his body Saturday in a creek in Greenville.

Evans said the body was too badly decomposed to determine the cause of death.

The sheriff’s office and the coroner’s office continue to investigate.
