CALEDONIA, N.Y. (AP) - Plans are in the works to rebuild a western New York grain and fertilizer processing plant destroyed in a fire last fall.

The Democrat and Chronicle of Rochester reports (https://on.rocne.ws/1Rdtu6M ) that Purina Animal Nutrition LLC and the Commodity Resource Corp. plan to rebuild the plant located in the northern Livingston County town of Caledonia.

An early November fire blamed on spontaneous combustion of stored grain ripped through the plant located 18 miles south of Rochester. The facility was the largest dairy feed manufacturing facility and dry fertilizer distribution center in the region.

Purina Animal Nutrition, which is owned by Minnesota-based Land O’Lakes, leases the property from Commodity Resource. They plan to begin rebuilding the plant this fall, with completion expected in early 2017.
