SULLIVAN, Mo. (AP) - The hardware and home improvement company Menards plans a $29.1 million manufacturing and distribution facility in the eastern Missouri town of Sullivan, creating 129 jobs.

Construction begins this month. The Missouri Department of Economic Development says the first phase of the facility will be completed late next year.

Menards Inc., based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, has about 300 stores. Spokesman Jeff Abbott says the facility in Sullivan helps meet transportation needs and gives the company access to a highly skilled workforce.

Sullivan is about 70 miles southwest of St. Louis.
