GLENWOOD, Iowa (AP) - No arrests have been reported after the altercation in which the Glenwood Community High School principal and his stepson were injured and another man shot.

Glenwood police and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are still investigating what led to Sunday evening’s incident, which involved three juvenile girls and six adults. The adults included the principal, Richard Hutchinson; his stepson, Hurl Beechum; and Colton McDaniel, who was shot. All three were treated at a hospital.

Mills County Attorney Tricia McSorley said at a Monday news conference that “all motives surrounding this incident are still being investigated, including any motive involving race.” Hutchinson is black, and neighbors reported that the people who went to Hutchinson’s house Sunday were white.

Hutchinson has been the Glenwood high school principal since July 1, 2014.
