CLEVELAND (AP) - Two northeast Ohio brothers have been sentenced to four years in prison each for using separate cars to strike and kill a teen who’d robbed them of a dirt bike at gunpoint.

Twenty-nine-year-old Alfonso Trail of Twinsburg and 25-year-old Aaron Trail of Cleveland were sentenced Tuesday on voluntary manslaughter charges. The Trails accepted a plea deal Aug. 20 after originally being charged with aggravated murder for killing Tracy Philpott Jr. in July 2014.

Authorities say Philpott robbed the Trails of a dirt bike and cellphones at a garage at Aaron Trail’s home. The brothers got in their cars and hit the Warrensville Heights teen after hearing the dirt bike stall.

Aaron Trail’s attorney says the circumstances surrounding the case are unfortunate. Alfonso Trail’s attorney couldn’t be reached Tuesday.
