BUTLER, Pa. (AP) - The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating after a sewer line worker was killed when a 12-foot-deep trench collapsed on him in western Pennsylvania.

The Butler County coroner on Tuesday was not immediately releasing the name of the 21-year-old Clearfield County man who was killed Monday afternoon.

Penn Township police say the accident happened behind Shelbourne Personal Care, a nursing home about 25 miles north of Pittsburgh.

The man was part of a crew working on the sewer line when the walls of the hole collapsed about 2 p.m.

Emergency crews worked for several hours to recover the man’s body.

The name of the company doing the sewer work, and who it was being done for, have yet to be released.
