PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A New Year’s Eve fire at a popular Providence restaurant has been ruled arson, and authorities are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

The blaze at the Pearl Restaurant and Lounge was reported at about 2 a.m. on Dec. 31 and caused an estimated $2 million in damage.

An arson dog detected an accelerant at the site, which investigators said Monday was confirmed by crime lab testing.

Providence firefighters have released video of someone outside the building at the time of the fire.

The fire department, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the restaurant’s insurance company all kicked in for the reward.
