PUCKETT, Miss. (AP) - Heat-exchanger maker R-Squared has expanded operations at its plant in Puckett, investing $2 million and adding 50 jobs.

The unit of Sanhua Holding Group of Zhejiang, China, will grow to about 200 employees at its Rankin County location. R-Squared built a 15,000 square-foot addition to its factory.

The Mississippi Development Authority gave $427,000 in federal community development money for access road improvements, with Rankin County and the town of Puckett contributing $47,000 for a local match. The Rankin First Economic Development Authority donated 9 acres of land.

Local governments are also giving the company property tax abatements, but MDA spokeswoman Tammy Craft couldn’t estimate their value Tuesday.

Average pay for the jobs was unavailable Tuesday.

R-Squared, founded in 1990, makes aluminum heat exchanger parts for automotive and air conditioning uses.
