CHESTER, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a suburban Philadelphia school was briefly placed on lockdown after a gun was reported, but the gun turned out to be a toy.

Officials in Delaware County said police were called to Chester High School at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The Chester Upland School district said a student reported seeing another student take what looked like a gun from his waistband and put it in his backpack.

The building was placed in lockdown at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and police and school security conducted a room-to-room search.

A gun later determined to be a toy was found and a student taken into custody, and officials lifted the lockdown and classes resumed at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
