ST. JOSEPH, Minn. (AP) - St. Joseph police say an 18-month-old boy suffered a broken jaw when he fell out of a third-floor window.

Authorities say the child had been taking a nap in his room around 5:50 p.m. Monday when he crawled to the window, slid it open and pushed the screen out.

One of the boy’s parents saw him on the ground and while attending to him had a passer-by call 911.

The St. Cloud Times (https://on.sctimes.com/1PM0rWW ) reports authorities found the child crying and responsive when they arrived. The boy was taken to St. Cloud Hospital and has since been moved out of intensive care.

Police believe the fall was an accident.
