GAUTIER, Miss. (AP) - A former Gautier High School assistant principal in set to go on trial on charges that he kidnapped and sexually assaulted a woman while holding her against her will for more than 12 hours.

Local media outlets report that George Lee Parks III’s trial begins Tuesday. Police arrested Parks in August 2014 on kidnapping, aggravated battery and sexual battery charges. Police say Parks was also in possession of crack cocaine at the time of his arrest, resulting in a charge of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.

Biloxi Regional Medical Center called police in August 2104 after a woman came in and reported she’d been physically and sexually assaulted. Police say she had been stabbed several times.

It was not immediately clear if Parks has an attorney.
