FARIBAULT, Minn. (AP) - An Alexandria woman is accused in the drug overdose death of an inmate at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Faribault.

Thirty-four-year-old Melissa Guillette faces charges of third-degree murder and bringing contraband into a state prison

KSTP-TV (https://bit.ly/1QJX03a ) reports Guillette is accused of bringing methamphetamine to inmate Jason Nyberg earlier this month.

Court documents say Guillette passed two pills to Nyberg in the prison visiting room. She said he put the pills in his mouth and planned to spit them out after a strip search.

Nyberg was held for an hour before his strip search. He was found dead in his cell Sept. 5. An autopsy determined Nyberg died of a meth overdose.

Guillette was arrested at her home Monday. Online court records do not list an attorney who could comment on her behalf.
