BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A North Dakota woman has been sentenced to more than three years in prison on a child pornography charge.

Twenty-three-year-old Kathleen Schneider, of Center, pleaded guilty in federal court to possession of material involving the sexual exploitation of a minor.

The Bismarck Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1OCjiq0) that the case involved sexually explicit photographs of Schneider and a 15-year-old girl.

Defense attorney Jeff Bredahl says his client has been diagnosed with dependent personality disorder, which contributed to her willingness to participate in actions she knew to be morally wrong and illegal.

Schneider was sentenced to 41 months in prison to be followed by five years of supervised release. She must also register as a sex offender.
