JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - The managing director for the Florida Department of Children and Families’ northeast region has resigned.

Officials say retired Army Col. David Abramowitz submitted his letter of resignation Wednesday night. He took over management of the 20-county region in 2012. The Florida Times-Union (https://goo.gl/leJ9Dl ) reports that his resignation letter didn’t say why he was leaving the position.

A complaint against Abramowitz was anonymously filed in May 2014 with Florida’s Office of the Inspector General. It claimed he created a hostile work environment and discriminated against women.

An investigation later cleared Abramowitz of the accusations, though the inspector general did refer him for more training. It wasn’t known whether Abramowitz ever completed the recommended training.
