HOUSTON (AP) - A giraffe has been born at the Houston Zoo, bringing the zoo’s total of Masai giraffes to 10.

According to zoo officials, a giraffe named Asali gave birth to a girl shortly before 7:45 p.m. Monday. The baby giraffe has not been named, but the zoo says she should have a name when she is revealed to the public in a few days.

The Houston Zoo’s Hoofed Stock Supervisor John Register said the baby is about 160 pounds and is 6 feet, 3 inches tall.
