TWINSBURG, Ohio (AP) - A report from a medical examiner’s investigator says a man was fatally shot by his father when he tried to stop the older man from leaving home with a pistol and a rifle vowing to “do some damage” at a medical facility.

A Twinsburg police officer shot and killed 76-year-old Charles Shaw on Tuesday after responding to a 911 call about him shooting his son, 55-year-old Scott Shaw. Police say an officer fired multiple shots at Charles Shaw after Shaw loaded a handgun, pulled back the hammer and pointed it at officers. Twinsburg is about 25 miles southeast of Cleveland.

Charles Shaw was pronounced dead at the scene. Scott Shaw was pronounced dead at a medical facility.

The report says Charles Shaw was upset about his medications.
