BAY CITY, Mich. (AP) - A three-sided mural along the Riverwalk on Bay City’s west side offers a glimpse into the community’s rich lumber heritage.

The Bay City Times reports (https://bit.ly/1Fl9Lv6 ) the mural was completed last week by members of the Bay Area Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee.

The mural was painted to look like a piece of lumber on all three sides. It’s designed to pay tribute to a division of the former American Hoist and Derrick Co. and Bay City’s once thriving lumber industry. The mural is one of the youth group’s yearly projects.

The youth committee worked with Bay County artists Mark Piotrowski of MARKed ARTs and Adam Wernecke of Adam Wernecke Art on the project.
