HARRISON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP)  — southern New Jersey pizzeria owner finds pizza boxes that depict Pope Francis and welcome him to Philadelphia in poor taste.

Anthony Marino sent the boxes back to Savona-Stavola Food packaging in West Deptford when they arrived at Marino’s Pizza in Harrison.

Mr. Marino told NJ.com he’s Roman Catholic and he believes the pope is not into such promotions.

He says it didn’t seem right and he believes the drawing of the pope and Philadelphia skyline with “Welcome Pope Francis” and “Philadelphia 2015” written on the box were not tasteful.

Savona-Stavola marketing director Amanda Farese says she designed the box as a fun way to do something special.

She says people are going to pizzerias just to get the boxes.

Mr. Marino says people will eventually throw them away.
