CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A Japanese firm is celebrating its 20th year of business in West Virginia.

NGK Spark Plug Manufacturing Inc. opened a plant to assemble oxygen sensors for cars in Sissonville in March 1995. The expanded facility began spark plug production in 2008.

Hundreds of workers at attended a luncheon celebration Wednesday in Sissonville. Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin’s office says he plans to join company representatives Thursday evening at Edgewood Country Club in Charleston.

The company is based in Nagoya, Japan.
