STRONGSVILLE, Ohio (AP) - Investigators have confirmed that a man found dead in a parked car in northern Ohio was responsible for robbing a gas station just hours earlier.

Northeast Ohio Media Group reports (https://bit.ly/1NbMlQY ) 34-year-old Michael Collins Jr. was found dead from a gunshot wound to his head in the passenger seat of a Jeep just after 2 a.m. Monday in Bucyrus.

Ohio Highway Patrol Lt. Craig Cvetan says 34-year-old Kristle Kendle, the driver of the Jeep where Collins was found, says the Lakewood man killed himself.

Lt. John Janowski says Collins entered a Shell gas station on Royalton Road in Strongsville just after 9 p.m. Sunday and demanded cigarettes and cash at gunpoint.

Janowski says Collins fled in a Jeep with an unidentified woman. He says it’s unclear if the woman was Kendle.
