TEMPLE, Texas (AP) - Investigators are trying to determine what sparked a fire at a Central Texas apartment complex that left one person dead and a firefighter injured.

Temple firefighters early Wednesday responded to a report of a structure fire.

Authorities say firefighters searched the complex and located one body in a unit. Further details on the victim weren’t immediately release.

A Temple Fire and Rescue statement says one firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion.

The fire damaged 16 apartments. No loss estimate was immediately released.
