BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - A 13-year-old Billings boy was injured after being struck by a sport utility vehicle while skateboarding across Broadwater Avenue.

Police responded shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday. The boy was taken to the hospital, but officers said he did not appear to have life-threatening injuries.

Officers say the boy was not in a crosswalk and the driver of the SUV had crossed a double-yellow marked area to get into a left turn lane.

Last Thursday, a 13-year-old boy suffered serious injuries after being struck by a car while walking to school. The driver told police the sun was in her eyes and she couldn’t see the boy.
