WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Purdue University says C-SPAN founder Brian Lamb will lead a class that’s open to the public next week on the West Lafayette campus.

The “Master Class with Brian Lamb” on Monday will focus on the 2016 presidential election and other issues in U.S. politics, government and news media. The class is being organized by the Purdue Institute for Civic Communication.

Lamb earned a bachelor’s degree in speech from Purdue in 1963 and in 1977 founded the C-SPAN cable network, which offers around-the-clock coverage of government and political events, including live broadcasts of congressional sessions. Purdue’s School of Communication was named for him in 2011.
