CAMBRIDGE, Md. (AP) - A Cambridge man has been charged in connection with an illegal drug operation following a police chase.

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office says 31-year-old Cornell Jolley was arrested Monday after authorities say he was found taking part in illegal activity in Cambridge. Jolley faces multiple charges, including crack cocaine and marijuana possession with intent to distribute.

Investigators say Jolley sped off and almost hit an officer when members of the county’s Narcotics Task Force approached his vehicle.

Jolley was later pulled over. Authorities say he had 22 bags of crack cocaine, six bags of marijuana and over $1,100 in cash in his possession.

Jolley is being held at the county detention center on bond. It isn’t clear if he has an attorney.
