NEW YORK (AP) - New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and other elected officials are finalizing plans for a presidential forum this November in Iowa.

De Blasio and the Progressive Agenda Committee, a group of largely liberal elected officials, first announced plans for the forum this spring.

Geri Prado, the committee’s director, said Wednesday that invites to presidential candidates will be going out “in the days to come.”

De Blasio, a Democrat, has yet to make an endorsement in the race. He told The Associated Press earlier this year that he would likely wait to do so until after the forum.

Many Democrats expect him to endorse Hillary Rodham Clinton, for whom he once worked as a campaign manager.

De Blasio has said he wants to shape the national conversation on liberal issues.
