NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A Lincolnville man has been arrested and accused of fatally shooting a Ladson man in August.

Charleston County Sheriff’s spokesman Maj. Eric Watson tells local media that 23-year-old Thomas S. McFadden Jr. was arrested Tuesday afternoon by members of a U.S. Marshals Service fugitive task force outside a restaurant in North Charleston.

McFadden has been charged with murder in the slaying of 25-year-old Tyrell Bess. Bess’ body was found in a wooded area Aug. 14 near several shell casings in Lincolnville.

Watson says physical evidence gathered at the shooting scene helped investigators develop McFadden as a suspect. He is being held at the Charleston County jail and is expected to appear Wednesday for a bond hearing. It is unclear whether he has an attorney to comment on the charge.
