CINCINNATI (AP) - Authorities say a 19-year-old Northern Kentucky University student is expected to survive after she fell down an elevator shaft while taking photos with three of her schoolmates in an abandoned Cincinnati brewery.

District 1 Fire Chief Greg Potter tells local media that the unidentified woman fell more than 12 feet down an open shaft Sunday night in the Hudepohl Brewery building, which has sat empty since the 1980s. Hall says the woman possibly fractured her leg and injured her hip and arm.

Cincinnati police officer Kenneth Hall says the woman was in the building with three other Northern Kentucky students to take photographs for a project. Hall says all four students will be charged with criminal trespassing.

Northern Kentucky University is located in Highland Heights, about 7 miles southeast of Cincinnati.
