INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indianapolis police say they’ve arrested a 44-year-old man in the 2011 hit-and-run death of a 13-year-old girl.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says the man was arrested Tuesday on preliminary charges of failure to stop at an accident resulting in death, insurance fraud and obstruction of justice.

According to police, Hadleigh Cave died a day after being struck by a vehicle that left the scene on the southeast side of Indianapolis. Witnesses told police that the girl was struck as she walked along the side of the road.

Police say investigators got new information in the case this summer and arrested the man after interviewing him. The police department says a final decision on charges will be made by prosecutors.
