PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island State Police say a piece of debris damaged at least 14 vehicles on Interstate 95.

Police say they began receiving reports Tuesday evening that vehicles were being damaged in the northbound lanes in Providence.

A large piece of metal - possibly a pipe or a drive shaft - was later found on the highway, which police believe was causing flat tires and other minor damages.

It’s not yet clear where the metal came from. Police are investigating.

Police say there were no injuries and no lanes needed to close.
