ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A search for an armed carjacking suspect who fled from police in a stolen vehicle ended late Wednesday after police found no signs of him.

Albuquerque police say the man fled as two other suspects were being taken into custody. Police say the man pointed a gun at an officer, who fired at the moving vehicle.

Police Chief Gorden Eden says officers tracked the stolen vehicle to a mobile home park in northeast Albuquerque and established a perimeter as they searched for the suspect.

The man’s name hasn’t been released. Police say he’s suspected in three recent armed carjackings and three armed robberies.

Eden says he’s also wanted for a parole violation by the Department of Corrections.

The officer who fired at the moving vehicle is on standard administrative leave.
