GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A Gulfport teen is accused of hitting a 73-year-old man with his truck and leaving the scene.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1VmwJie) 19-year-old Justin Michael Loposser is charged with leaving the scene of an accident where there were injuries.

Gulfport police said officers responded to a call about a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian about 1 p.m. Saturday. Officers learned that a pickup was westbound on 2nd Street when it left the road and hit a man and continued through the yard and fled.

Authorities say Jack Bethea is out of intensive care and recovering from his injuries.

Loposser is being held in the Harrison County jail on a $100,000 bond set by Justice Judge Melvin Ray.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for Loposser.
