TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - A police captain in Tuscaloosa will end a 35-year career without taking a single sick day.

WSFA-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1OEY8re ) that Capt. Michael A. Flowers will retire Saturday after starting in 1980. Records show he never took a day off for illness.

Flowers commands the department’s east precinct and its special response team.
