RENO, Nev. (AP) - University of Nevada, Reno President Marc Johnson used part of his annual state of the university address to criticize a controversial UNR club that has degraded women.

Johnson directed his remarks at the secret Coffin and Keys Club Tuesday after members recently frightened a female graduate student on campus at about midnight.

Hope Loudon says five to eight masked men walked toward here on the campus on Aug. 26 and made her feel like she was about to be attacked.

Johnson says UNR values freedom of expression as a foundation of our society. But he says the university also stands for inclusiveness, equity and respect.

He says that words and actions from groups like Coffin and Keys that scare and denigrate women, members of the LGBT community or people of color do not improve UNR.
