PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - A municipal judge has set bond at $50,000 for a man accused of fleeing an accident that resulted in the death of a Pascagoula woman.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1JDGtK6) 48-year-old James Earl Williams, of Pascagoula, remains in the Jackson County.

Pascagoula police arrested Williams on Monday after he was identified as the driver of a vehicle that struck 38-year-old Annette Johnston.

Police said Johnson was walking home from work at a Dollar General store when she was hit. When police found her, they say she was on the side of the road suffering blunt force injuries to the head.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for Williams.
