DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - A 25-year-old pickup driver has been given 10 years in prison for killing four teenage boys in an eastern Iowa collision last summer.

Joseph Connolly, of Holy Cross, was sentenced Thursday in Dubuque County District Court in Dubuque. He’d pleaded guilty to four counts of vehicular homicide.

The collision on Aug. 2, 2014, at an intersection near Epworth killed Sean Kenneally, Mitchell Kluesner, Nicholas Kramer and Bryce Wilwert. The 14-year-old boys were riding on a small, four-wheel utility vehicle. Prosecutors say Connolly didn’t halt his pickup at a stop sign and then hit the utility vehicle.

The parents of the four boys gave emotional statements before Connolly was sent to prison.
