TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - A Phoenix man accused of exposing himself at businesses has been jailed in Tempe.

Tempe police say tips from the public led to the arrest of 48-year-old William Eugene Whites is facing three counts of indecent exposure.

Police spokeswoman Molly Enright says authorities believe Whites is linked to three incidents going back to June.

According to police, the suspect exposed himself in June to a female clerk who was alone in a Circle K in Tempe.

They say the suspect then followed a woman outside a Walmart in Scottsdale on Aug. 21 and attempted to pull his shorts down in front of her.

But the victim drove away.

Employees at a Tempe clothing store reported the suspect exposed himself on Aug. 27.

The investigation remains ongoing.
