COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Police say a Columbus man who was paralyzed after being shot during a 2013 robbery in Ohio’s capital city has died.

The Columbus Dispatch reports (https://bit.ly/1Fmudf8 ) 27-year-old Danny Lowe III died Wednesday.

Police say Lowe was seriously injured when he was shot March 23, 2013 in a motel room in Columbus’ Franklinton section.

Two men, Peter Hunter and Derrick Wade, are both serving time in prison after they were convicted of charges stemming from Lowe’s robbery and subsequent injury.

Police say a struggle ensued when the men went to Lowe’s room at the Travelodge on West Broad Street to sell pain pills. They say Wade, later acquitted of attempted murder, shot Lowe.

The Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office will decide whether Hunter and Wade will face additional charges in the death.
