GWINN, Mich. (AP) - Police say a 4-year-old girl who was injured after a safety partition being installed in a high school gym fell on her in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula has died.

The Mining Journal of Marquette and WLUC-TV report Amarah Filizetti was taken to a hospital on Thursday after being hurt at Gwinn High School and later died.

The girl is from Marquette County’s Forsyth Township. In a statement, police in the community say the girl’s family is requesting privacy.

Forsyth Township police say Friday they’re working to determine what caused the partition to fall.
