MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a 10-month investigation into drug dealings in suburban New York City has resulted in the arrest of 32 people.

Mount Vernon Police Commissioner Terrance Raynor says heroin, cocaine and various pills were sold by the members of the drug ring on street corners and businesses where the owners were unaware of their activity.

Police say at least 10 of the arrested Mount Vernon residents had gang affiliations.

Prosecutors say all 32 people apprehended were charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a felony.

The Journal News reports (https://lohud.us/1fYMngl ) the large-scale bust was a joint investigation between the Mount Vernon and Westchester County police departments and assistance from the FBI.
