ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) - The U.S. Navy band Country Current will perform in Aberdeen on Friday night.

Adam Grimm, the band’s public affairs officer, tells the Aberdeen News (https://bit.ly/1NNtziP ) that the group of up to seven musicians and one audio engineer will perform a mix of country and bluegrass. The band will play covers of popular tunes and original pieces.

Grimm says the band is part of a larger U.S. Navy band based in Washington D.C. He said the group’s goal is to come to the interior of the country and represent sailors from around the world in the heartland.

The free performance begins at 7:30 p.m. the Aberdeen Civic Area.

The band will be performing 14 concerts in six states during the tour.
