SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - A grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwich beat Mexican street corn, salt potato pizza and other mobile chefs’ delights in the New York State Fair’s inaugural food truck competition.

The sandwich prepared by PB&J;’s Lunch Box of Syracuse won the Judge’s Choice award at Sunday’s competition, which featured 10 other entrants from central New York, the Finger Lakes and Rochester.

Rochester-based Smokin Pete’s Barbecue won first place in the People’s Choice competition for its loaded pulled pork tater tots. Another Rochester establishment, The Meatball Truck, was runner-up with its meatball in a cup.
