LOS ANGELES (AP) - A $75,000 reward will be offered for information leading to the arrest of whoever gunned down a Los Angeles man as he was collecting cans in January.

The Los Angeles Police Department will detail the reward at a press conference Tuesday.

Nineteen-year-old Jose Andres Escobar and a friend were collecting aluminum cans in the Hyde Park neighborhood when a man approached Escobar and shouted, “Where are you from?” The assailant then pulled out a handgun and fired multiple times.

Escobar was taken to a hospital but died from his wounds.
