AURORA, Colo. (AP) - Police in Aurora are investigating a 911 threat made against officers but don’t believe it’s related to shots later fired near two officers.

A man called 911 Sunday and said that “we are about to start striking fear by shooting down all cops” seen alone, specifically mentioning Aurora and Denver. About four hours later, police say two Aurora officers were responding to a call when they heard what sounded like gun shots. Multiple 911 callers also reported them. Then, when the officers were a few blocks away, police say the officers also heard shots fired in their direction. They weren’t hurt and no victims were found.

Aurora issued a bulletin on the threat to state law enforcement agencies through a state center set up to share information.
