GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Vermont U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders is planning a rally in North Carolina this weekend for his presidential campaign.

Sanders announced Tuesday he will speak Sunday evening at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex.

Sanders is an independent seeking the Democratic nomination for president. He’s attracted large crowds in other states as he takes on party front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton.

The free Greensboro event is open to the public.
